IN THE PIT: Delilah Bon
AUGUST 20TH- LODGE ROOM
Delilah Bon made the Lodge Room her main stage.
The doors opened at 7:30 PM and the entire venue was already filled by 8 PM. Fans pressed closer to the stage as they all waited in anticipation. As a huge fan of punk and nu-metal I was very excited to see what was in store!
OPENER:
tiLLie
The night started with tiLLie, her energy started the night off right. She is a very grundge, alt-pop ecentric artist and her playful, fierce energy was the perfect start to the night.
HEADLINER:
Delilah Bon
Delilah Bon entered the stage and the room erupted in cheers and clapping. She started the show with her song I Am The Best (Just Ask Your Momma) from her 2024 album Evil, Hate Filled Female. Her performance was sharp and unapologetically RAW!!
This was her first time touring in the US and it is 100% worth it.
Throughout the night, she performed some of her hit songs, one being Dead Men Don’t Rape. The entire floor was alive with fans jumping, singing and stomping to her lyrics.
The whole venue could be heard outside (I left for a few minutes to get ice cream LOL). I came back to see the crowd pumping their fists in the air and I RUSHED to the stage and shot this image:
My favorite photo from the night!
Delilah’s confidence radiated off the stage. Fans related to everything that she was saying in her lyrics. Whether you are Black, LGBTQ+, or alone, each lyric, drenched in rage and empowerment, felt like a declaration of independence from the constraints of our culture in and society itself.
As the night drew to a close, Delilah came back on stage to playe her last song. She ended the night with a bang. For this first time ever I never expected to see people who did not know each other connect with one another. Especially in the world we are living in now, it good to know that people are still willing to connect with one another. :)
